Ah…. the Intel 4004 might be the world’s first ***microprocessor*** but the first microchip (aka integrated circuit) dates from around 1958 (Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce are the names to Google)… There were plenty of microchips (also known as “monolithic circuits” and some other names) designed and implemented in the 60′s….
