It's a fascinating place. Even the lawns were to scale, with very short fine blades of (real) grass. I remember visiting Bekonscot as a kid in 1970. It’s a fascinating place. Through the 1960s-70s, Bekonscot was kept contemporary, and old buildings demolished to be replaced with modern ones - just like the rest of England. Then nostalgia kicked in, and the modern buildings in turn were demolished, to be replaced by "new old" buildings. Confusing? Bekonscot is delightful, but its 1930s look today is a bit of a fraud. My wife went as a child and our kids loved it too. Nice bit of Old England. Bekonscot is a lovely place. My wife went as a child and our kids loved it too. Nice bit of Old England.
